Fly Casting Meetup

This is the 2nd of 4 classes that is focusing on improving skills for surf fishing with a fly rod. These skills can be utilized in many other fishing situations, as well. Anyone who is interested is welcome to join us. I will be focusing on a couple of skills. I’d like to go over single and double hauls, as well as roll cast pickups with and without strip hauling. This is a technique to get a sinking line out of the water to initiate a quick release back out to the water with minimal false casting. For those who are just learning to cast, I will also be available to give pointers to improve your basic casting. Bring whatever rods you would like to work with, I will have some 5 wt rods with floating lines for those just learning to cast, as well as some 6, 7 and 8 wt rods with shooting heads, and full running lines to try out. It’s a good chance to practice and hopefully improve your casting skill set.
